John Krasinski and Ryan Reynolds Teaming for Imaginary Friends

John Krasinski (A Quiet PlaceJack RyanThe Office) and Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) are teaming up for Imaginary Friends, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The fantasy comedy is being picked up by Paramount Pictures.

Krasinski will write, direct, produce and star and Reynolds will co-star in the story of “a man who can see and talk to people’s imaginary friends, befriending those that have been forgotten or discarded. However, some imaginary friends, lacking love and friendship, turn to the dark side, and it’s up to Reynolds’ character to save the world from those that become evil.”

With the project going to Paramount, it’s the second big package involving Reynolds sold this week. Apple earlier picked up the musical adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, which will star Reynolds and Will Ferrell. Reynolds can next be seen in Michael Bay’s 6 Underground on Netflix on December 13 and in the 20th Century Fox feature Free Guy, directed by Shawn Levy and opening on July 3, 2020.

Paramount has reteamed with Krasinski on the A Quiet Place sequel, which has already finished filming and will release on March 20, 2020. Krasinski can also be seen in the second season of Amazon’s Jack Ryan, of which the second season premieres November 1st.
