Jermaine Fowler (Superior Donuts, BoJack Horseman) has joined the cast of Coming 2 America, according to Variety. There is no word yet on who Fowler is playing in the Paramount Pictures film, but we’ll keep you updated as news breaks. Coming 2 America is the sequel to the 1988 comedy Coming to America starring Eddie Murphy.
Craig Brewer (Hustle & Flow) will direct the film. In the sequel, Murphy’s Prince Akeem learns about a long lost son and must return to America to meet his unlikely heir to the throne of Zamunda.

In the original film, directed by John Landis, a very wealthy and pampered African prince comes to America in search of a bride. Accompanied by his closest companion (Arsenio Hall), Murphy’s Prince Akeem quickly finds a job, new friends, new digs, new enemies and lots of trouble.
The movie also starred James Earl Jones, John Amos, Madge Sinclair, and Shari Headley. It grossed $288.8 million at the worldwide box office.
Brewer just directed Murphy in the upcoming Netflix film, Dolemite Is My Name.
