Invisible Woman Nabs Elizabeth Banks as Star and Director

Charlie’s Angels director Elizabeth Banks is set to direct and star in the upcoming Universal Pictures film Invisible Woman, according to Variety. The story is based on Banks’ pitch for the film. The script was written by Erin Cressida Wilson (The Girl on the Train), and Banks and Max Handelman will produce for Brownstone Productions, with Alison Small executive producing.

The site states that this film is unrelated to the upcoming Invisible Man film starring Elizabeth Moss. Other than that, there are no details on the story.

Banks recently directed the Charlie’s Angels reboot starring Kristen Stewart. She also played the role of Bosley. Invisible Man recently released its first trailer and will hit theaters in February.

In other Universal news, Rocketman director Dexter Fletcher is set to take on Renfield for the studio. Renfield is the servant of Dracula and an inmate at an insane asylum in the original novel.

Universal had originally started an interconnected universe of monster films, but these upcoming films are not related in any way, other than the fact that they came and/or are based on from the catalogue of Universal’s classic monster films.

What do you think of Elizabeth Banks taking on Invisible Woman for Universal? Are you excited to see her take? Let us know in the comments.
