Informer Set for January 11 Launch on Amazon Prime Video

Starring Paddy Considine, Bel Powley and newcomer Nabhaan Rizwan

On Friday, January 11, Amazon will premiere all six episodes of Prime Original series Informer on Prime Video in the US. The series was written and created by Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani, and directed by Jonny Campbell.

Informer is a sophisticated, character-driven thriller that follows Raza Shar (Nabhaan Rizwan), a young man of Pakistani descent, born and raised in East London. After a series of unfortunate events not coincidentally tied to the color of his skin, Raza is coerced into becoming counter-terrorist officer Gabe’s newest undercover informer. Gabe (Paddy Considine), who has a past he is unwilling to expose, is joined by Holly (Bel Powley), his new and ambitious partner whose endless curiosity becomes threatening to him. As Raza falls deeper into a complex web of bad guys and the clock ticks for Gabe and Holly as the threat to London grows, the stakes for all three will reach a fever pitch. Informer tells a story about identity in a world where lines are increasingly being drawn and sides are being taken. What happens when you, or your friends, family or neighbors fall on the wrong side of that line and the personal becomes political?

Informer also stars Jessica Raine (Call the Midwife, Wolf Hall), Sharon D. Clarke (Holby City, Unforgotten), Sunetra Sarker (Safe House, Broadchurch), and Roger Jean Nsengiyumva (Chasing Shadows, Sixteen).

The series was executive produced by Nicolas Brown, Sam Mendes and Julie Pastor for Neal Street and Elizabeth Kilgarriff for BBC One.
