IMAX Short Film Infinite Worlds to Play in Front of Avengers: Endgame

IMAX announced today that its new short film Infinite Worlds will play in front of Avengers: Endgame. The film was directed by Espen Sandberg (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No TalesKon-Tiki).

As an extension of IMAX’s biggest brand campaign to-date – “Films to the Fullest” which launched in fall 2018 – Infinite Worlds debuted in more than 1,500 of IMAX theatres across 79 countries. In the short film, IMAX set out to create an immersive, in-theatre experience that invites audiences to continue to push beyond the ordinary and always seek the fullest experiences.

“With IMAX’s brand film, Infinite Worlds, we are focused on storytelling and reminding audiences of the connection and sense of community an extraordinary movie-going experience can have,” said Denny Tu, CMO at IMAX. “We are also highlighting what really sets IMAX apart which includes more than 50 years of history in filmmaking. As a notable partner to every major studio as well as incredibly talented filmmakers, we support the creative, storytelling process from a film’s production to its IMAX release and for audiences, we offer the finest in-theatre experience. More than a big screen, we bring the theatre experience full circle and feel it is important that people have a place to go to turn off their cell phone, connect with friends and family and enjoy films at their absolute best.”

Infinite Worlds was purposely shot with IMAX cameras in order to deliver the ultimate IMAX experience in theatre – highest resolution, increased scale, and expanded aspect ratio – and was entitled Infinite Worlds because, conceptually, the camera continues to push through frames within the frame to reveal new IMAX worlds.

When a film is digitally re-mastered into The IMAX Experience, to be presented on the immersive IMAX screen, the film can be seen with the clearest images as well as crisp, seat-shaking audio and so much more so that audiences feel like they are in the movie.

This film will play in IMAX theatres only because only in the innovative IMAX theatre design can audiences have the fullest experience – larger curved screens, stadium seating, multi-channel sound, and IMAX projection systems.
