IMAX announced today that its new short film Infinite Worlds will play in front of Avengers: Endgame. The film was directed by Espen Sandberg (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Kon-Tiki).
As an extension of IMAX’s biggest brand campaign to-date – “Films to the Fullest” which launched in fall 2018 – Infinite Worlds debuted in more than 1,500 of IMAX theatres across 79 countries. In the short film, IMAX set out to create an immersive, in-theatre experience that invites audiences to continue to push beyond the ordinary and always seek the fullest experiences.

Infinite Worlds was purposely shot with IMAX cameras in order to deliver the ultimate IMAX experience in theatre – highest resolution, increased scale, and expanded aspect ratio – and was entitled Infinite Worlds because, conceptually, the camera continues to push through frames within the frame to reveal new IMAX worlds.
When a film is digitally re-mastered into The IMAX Experience, to be presented on the immersive IMAX screen, the film can be seen with the clearest images as well as crisp, seat-shaking audio and so much more so that audiences feel like they are in the movie.
This film will play in IMAX theatres only because only in the innovative IMAX theatre design can audiences have the fullest experience – larger curved screens, stadium seating, multi-channel sound, and IMAX projection systems.
