This week, Focus Features provided updates about two of its upcoming films, including Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul, and You Won’t Be Alone.
Focus announced that Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul, from Daniel Kaluuya’s 59% Productions, will open in theaters and stream on Peacock on Labor Day weekend, Friday, September 2, 2022.
In Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul, proud first lady of a Southern Baptist megachurch, Trinitie Childs (Regina Hall) carries immense responsibility on her shoulders.
After a scandal involving her husband, Pastor Lee-Curtis Childs (Sterling K. Brown), the church is forced to close temporarily, leaving Trinitie struggling to manage the aftermath.
Now Trinitie and Lee-Curtis must rebuild their congregation and reconcile their faith by all means necessary to make the biggest comeback that commodified religion has ever seen.
Hot off its Sundance Film Festival premiere, filmmaking sibling duo the Ebo twins, writer-director Adamma Ebo and producer Adanne Ebo make their feature film debut with production company Pinky Promise in this adaptation of their previous short film of the same name.
The comedy is produced by Academy Award winner Daniel Kaluuya through his production company 59% with Amandla Crichlow alongside Adamma Ebo, Adanne Ebo; Pinky Promise’s Jessamine Burgum and Matthew Cooper; Rowan Riley; Kara Durrett and Regina Hall and Sterling K. Brown.

Set in an isolated mountain village in 19th-century Macedonia, You Won’t Be Alone follows a young girl who is kidnapped and then transformed into a witch by an ancient spirit.
Curious about life as a human, the young witch accidentally kills a peasant in the nearby village and then takes her victim’s shape to live life in her skin. Her curiosity ignited, and she continues to wield this horrific power in order to understand what it means to be human.
Written and directed by Goran Stolevski, the film stars Noomi Rapace, Anamaria Marinca, Alice Englert, Carloto Cotta, Félix Maritaud, and Sara Klimoska. The producers are Kristina Ceyton and Sam Jennings.
