HBO Max has announced the movies and TV shows coming to the streaming service in March, as well as what is leaving next month. In addition to the HBO Max March 2022 lineup, we’ve included what is specifically coming to and leaving HBO.
Celebrating one of the most storied basketball teams of all time, Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty will bring fans closer to a team that defined an era, both on and off the court.
The 10-episode HBO Original drama series gives an intimate look into the professional and personal lives of the legendary 1980s Los Angeles Lakers, featuring John C. Reilly as Jerry Buss, Quincy Isaiah as Magic Johnson, Jason Clarke as Jerry West Adrien Brody as Pat Riley, among others.
The HBO Max March 2022 slate also includes Oscar nominees for Best Picture, such as Dune, which has received 10 Academy Awards nominations.
Six-time Academy Award nominee King Richard stars Oscar nominee Will Smith as Richard Williams and follows the uplifting journey of a family whose unwavering resolve and unconditional belief ultimately delivered two of the world’s greatest sports legends – Venus and Serena Williams.
Nominated for four Academy Awards, Drive My Car is also Japan’s first Oscar nomination for Best Picture, and will launch on HBO Max in the U.S. The critically lauded film follows a distinguished stage actor and director after the shocking death of his wife and is centered on how we process grief.
Streaming on HBO Max is Steven Spielberg’s adaptation of the captivating movie-musical nominated for seven Academy Awards, West Side Story, which centers around two infamous street gangs as they battle over territory, national pride, and forbidden love.
Oscar fans can also stream Best Picture nominee Nightmare Alley and The Eyes of Tammy Faye, starring Best Actress nominee Jessica Chastain. Both films are already available on the platform.
The HBO Max March 2022 schedule also includes Moonshot, a new fantasy, sci-fi rom-com starring Lana Condor and Cole Sprouse set to the futuristic backdrop of a terraformed Mars colonized by the best humanity has to offer.
HBO and Max Original titles premiering this month deliver a wide array of cultural perspectives. Fans of The French Chef, Julia Child, will learn about the inspiring story behind the modern cooking show and its influence on the women’s movement in Julia. For a breakdown of timely issues playing out in the world of sports, Emmy-winning sports journalist Bomani Jones will kick off his weekly late-night series Game Theory with Bomani Jones.
Additional originals debuting this month include Our Flag Means Death, starring, executive produced, and directed by Oscar nominee Taika Waititi, Ava DuVernay’s DMZ, The Tourist starring Jamie Dornan, new 1970s LA comedy series Minx, and Brene Brown: Atlas of the Heart.
