Harley Quinn Series Premiere Date Announced by DC Universe

-

It’s been a big week for Harley Quinn. First we got the new trailer and posters for Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), starring Margot Robbie, and now we’re learning that the DC Universe streaming service has set the Harley Quinn series premiere date.

Warner Bros. Animation announced at the New York Comic Con that the animated Harley Quinn comedy series will debut on November 29th. The show’s executive producers, Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker, were on hand to announce the date, and were joined by comic creator Amanda Conner, who shared her inspiration in creating the art that in turn inspired the series.

In the series, Harley Quinn has finally broken things off once and for all with the Joker and attempts to make it on her own as the criminal Queenpin of Gotham City in this half-hour adult animated action-comedy series. The series features Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy and a whole cast of heroes and villains, old and new.

The Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco voices Harley Quinn and is joined by Lake Bell (In a World…, Wet Hot American Summer series, Childrens Hospital) as Poison Ivy, Alan Tudyk (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) as Joker and Clayface, Ron Funches (Powerless) as King Shark, JB Smoove (Curb Your Enthusiasm) as Frank the Plant, Jason Alexander (Seinfeld) as Sy Borgman, Wanda Sykes (black-ish) as Queen of Fables, Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad) as Lex Luthor, Natalie Morales (Bojack Horseman), Jim Rash (Mike Tyson Mysteries) as Riddler, Diedrich Bader (Veep) as Batman, Tony Hale (Arrested Development, Veep) as Dr. Psycho, and Chris Meloni (Happy!, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) as Commissioner James Gordon.

In addition to voicing the role of Harley Quinn, Cuoco is also an executive producer on the series through her Yes, Norman Productions, serving alongside Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker and Dean Lorey.

DC Universe also announced a new anthology show, BizarroTV, which will feature characters from the more obscure corners of the DC Universe. The mixed media series arrives on DC Universe in 2020, and is produced by Blue Ribbon Content, Warner Bros. Television Group’s digital production unit. Expect a wide range of experimental styles and a mix of live action and animation, featuring deep cuts from the DC Universe, including characters like Space Cabbie, Ambush Bug, Slam Bradley, and the Creeper.
