Netflix has announced that the new Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 anime series is coming to the streaming service in 2020. The series will be directed by Shinji Aramaki (Appleseed) and Kenji Kamiyama (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex).
The project was first announced in 2017. Production I.G. and SOLA DIGITAL ARTS are working on the new adaptation of the classic manga. You can get a first look at the lead character, Motoko Kusanagi, below.
“It is a next-generation animation film and the first ‘Ghost in the Shell’ made by double directors,” Netflix added.
Aramaki, Kamiyama, Production I.G. and SOLA DIGITAL ARTS are also working on the new Ultraman adaptation, coming to Netflix on April 1, 2019.
