Freeform has cancelled Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger after two seasons, the network confirmed today. The news comes shortly after Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige was also made Chief Creative Officer of Marvel, while it was recently reported that Marvel’s Head of Television Jeph Loeb is leaving the company.
“We are so proud of Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger and the trailblazing stories this series told,” Freeform said. “We are also grateful to our incredible talent Oliva Holt and Aubrey Joseph for bringing these beloved characters to life, and showrunner Joe Pokaski for his vision. We’d like to thank our partners at Marvel Television for a wonderful two seasons and are we are hopeful that we can find another project together.”
Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger is the story of Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph) – two teenagers from very different backgrounds who find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers, which are mysteriously linked to one another. The only constants in their lives are danger and each other. Tandy can emit light daggers and Tyrone has the ability to control the power of darkness. They quickly learn they are better together than apart.
