Before the Aquaman cast arrives at the San Diego Comic-Con next week, fans are getting a first look at the royal palace of the Fisherman King, as played by Djimon Hounsou (Shazam!, Captain Marvel, Guardians of the Galaxy). In the scene, Patrick Wilson’s King Orm has gone to the Fisherman King to enlist his help to declare war on the ocean-polluting surface world.
Also in the photo are the Fisherman Queen (Natalia Safran) and Princess (Sophia Forrest), as well as a royal guard on the right.
“After the fall of Atlantis, some of the kingdoms evolved and some devolved,” producer Peter Safran told the magazine. “This is one that evolved. This is a kingdom that’s primarily artistic and cerebral, with poets and philosophers.”
Directed by James Wan, the December 21 release stars Jason Momoa (Justice League, Game of Thrones) as the title character, Amber Heard as Mera, Oscar nominee Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, with Patrick Wilson as Orm/Ocean Master, and Oscar winner Nicole Kidman as Atlanna.
The Warner Bros. Pictures film is being produced by Peter Safran, with Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, Rob Cowan, Jon Berg and Geoff Johns serving as executive producers.
An icon for over 75 years, Aquaman is known by fans of DC Comics as the ruler of Atlantis but committed to protecting the entire globe, both land and sea.
