HBO and HBO Max have given a first look at Euphoria Season 2, drama series The Idol, and the adult stop-motion animated series Santa Inc.
Created, written and directed by Sam Levinson, starring Emmy winner Zendaya, and produced in partnership with A24, drama series Euphoria will return for its eight-episode second season Sunday, January 9 (9:00p.m. ET/PT) on HBO and will be available to stream on HBO Max.

In the second season, amidst the intertwining lives in the town of East Highland, 17 year old Rue (Zendaya) must find hope while balancing the pressures of love, loss, and addiction.
The Euphoria Season 2 cast includes Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Nika King, Eric Dane, Angus Cloud, Jacob Elordi, Algee Smith, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Barbie Ferreira, Maude Apatow, Javon Walton, Dominic Fike, Storm Reid and Austin Abrams.

Euphoria is created and written by Sam Levinson, who also serves as executive producer. The executive producers inclue Ravi Nandan, Kevin Turen, Will Greenfield, Drake, Adel “Future” Nur, Zendaya, Hadas Mozes Lichtenstein, Ron Leshem, and Daphna Levin.
Kenneth Yu serves as a producer, while Ashley Levinson, Harrison Kreiss, and Julio Perez are co-producers. The series is produced in partnership with A24 and based on the Israeli series of the same name, which was created by Ron Leshem and Daphna Levin, from HOT.
HBO has also ordered the drama series The Idol, co-created by Sam Levinson, Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye and Reza Fahim. The series will be filmed in and around Los Angeles. The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp will star.
Amy Seimetz (The Girlfriend Experience, Atlanta, She Dies Tomorrow, Sun Don’t Shine) is set to direct all six episodes and will also serve as an executive producer.
The Idol, set against the backdrop of the music industry, centers on a self-help guru and leader of a modern-day cult, who develops a complicated relationship with an up-and-coming pop idol.

“When the multi-talented Abel ‘The Weeknd’ Tesfaye, Reza Fahim and Sam Levinson brought us The Idol, it was clear their subversive, revelatory take on the cult of the music industry was unlike anything HBO had ever done before,” said Francesca Orsi, Executive Vice President, HBO Programming.
“Shortly after, the brilliant duo of Joe Epstein and Amy Seimetz joined forces with the rest of the team, and this dream became a reality.”

The executive producers/writers are Sam Levinson, Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye, Reza Fahim and Joe Epstein. Amy Seimetz is executive producer and director. Also executive producing are Kevin Turen, Ashley Levinson, Nick Hall (The White Lotus) and Sara E. White (Station 19). The series is produced in partnership with A24 and BRON’s Aaron Gilbert is executive producing as well.
