Eddie Murphy SNL Clips and Adam Driver to Host First Show of 2020

NBC has released videos from the final 2019 episode of Saturday Night Live which featured Eddie Murphy (Dolemite Is My Name, upcoming Coming 2 America) making his first appearance as host since 1984. In addition to the Eddie Murphy SNL clips, you can also watch Lizzo’s musical guest debut below.

During the show, it was also announced that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and Marriage Story star Adam Driver will return as host to kick off the 2020 shows on January 25th with returning musical guest (and host) Halsey.

The show opened with the “PBS Democratic Debate” Cold Open, in which 2020 presidential candidates Elizabeth Warren (Kate McKinnon), Andrew Yang (Bowen Yang), Pete Buttigieg (Colin Jost), Amy Klobuchar (Rachel Dratch), Bernie Sanders (Larry David), Joe Biden (Jason Sudeikis) and Michael Bloomberg (Fred Armisen) face off. It was followed by Eddie Murphy’s monologue, in which he gets interrupted by Tracy Morgan, Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle.

The Eddie Murphy SNL skits also had the actor reprising roles such as Buckwheat, Gumby, and Mister Robinson. Lizzo, meanwhile, performed the songs “Truth Hurts” and “Good as Hell,” and we’ve included the full Weekend Update in several parts as well and segments that were cut for time.

Saturday Night Live is produced in association with Broadway Video. The creator and executive producer is Lorne Michaels.
