Don’t Breathe 2 is set in the years following the initial deadly home invasion, where Norman Nordstrom (Stephen Lang) lives in quiet solace until his past sins catch up to him.

In addition to Lang, the cast includes Brendan Sexton III and Madelyn Grace. The producers are Fede Álvarez, Sam Raimi, and Rob Tapert. The executive producers include Nathan Kahane, Joe Drake, Erin Westerman, Andrew Pfeffer, Rick Jacobson, and Lang.

Made for just $9.9 million, the first film was released in August of 2016 and went on to gross $157.8 million worldwide, with $89.2 million coming from North America and $68.6 million from overseas.

Directed and produced by Álvarez, the movie stars Jane Levy, Dylan Minnette, and Daniel Zovatto as three young thieves who fight for their lives after breaking into the home of a blind man (Lang) who has a dark side.

Opening in theaters on October 1, 2021, the Hotel Transylvania sequel will be the final chapter of the successful franchise from Sony Pictures Animation. The first three installments grossed over $1.3 billion at the global box office.

Franchise creator Genndy Tartakovsky returns as screenwriter and executive producer, alongside Michelle Murdocca and Selena Gomez, who will also reprise her role as Dracula’s daughter, Mavis.

The new film is directed by Jennifer Kluska and Derek Drymon, and produced by Alice Dewey Goldstone.

Not back this time as Dracula is Adam Sandler, who voiced the character in the first three movies. He is replaced by Brian Hull, who also voiced the role in the recently-released short, Monster Pets.

Joining Selena Gomez and Brian Hull are: Andy Samberg as the human Johnny Loughran; Kathryn Hahn as Dracula’s wife Ericka Van Helsing; Keegan-Michael Key as the mummy Murray; Steve Buscemi as the werewolf Wayne; and David Spade as the invisible man Griffin.

Also voicing characters in the sequel are Asher Blinkoff as Dennis Loughran, Johnny and Mavis’s hybrid son; Brad Abrell; Fran Drescher as Frank’s wife Eunice; Jim Gaffigan as Professor Abraham Van Helsing; and Molly Shannon as the werewolf and Wayne’s wife, Wanda.
