Doctor Who Series 12 Premiere Date Set for New Year’s Day

In addition to the official trailer, the BBC has announced the Doctor Who Series 12 premiere date with a new trailer you can watch above! The new season will premiere on New Year’s Day 2020, with subsequent episodes airing on Sundays.

Starting with a blockbuster action-packed, two-part episode entitled “Spyfall,” the Thirteenth Doctor is well and truly back with a bang. As Jodie Whittaker takes charge of the TARDIS once again, the Doctor will be joined by her friends Tosin Cole (Ryan), Mandip Gill (Yaz) and Bradley Walsh (Graham). Chris Chibnall returns as showrunner with Matt Strevens as executive producer.

The twelfth series will also welcome a host of famous faces, including Stephen Fry (The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, A Bit of Fry and Laurie), Sir Lenny Henry CBE (Broadchurch, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban), Robert Glenister (Paranoid, Law and Order: UK) and Goran Višnjic (ER, Timeless), to name just a few. The new season will also include some familiar faces, such as the Judoon and the Cybermen.

After previously appearing in Doctor Who over three decades ago, Glenister is no stranger to the TARDIS, while Višnjic will be making his series debut.
