Daniella Pineda and Justice Smith will reprise their Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom roles in the highly-anticipated Jurassic World 3, according to Collider. In Fallen Kingdom, Daniella Pineda (upcoming Cowboy Bebop) plays Zia Rodriguez, a former Marine who is now the Dinosaur Protection Group’s paleoveterinarian. Justice Smith (Pokémon Detective Pikachu) portrays Franklin Webb, a former IT technician for Jurassic World who is now the Dinosaur Protection Group’s systems analyst and hacker.
They join a cast that already includes the returning Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, as well as Jurassic Park stars Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum reprising their roles as Dr. Alan Grant, Dr. Ellie Sattler, and Dr. Ian Malcolm. DeWanda Wise and Mamoudou Athie also star.
Colin Trevorrow is returning to direct the third chapter in Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment’s Jurassic World saga. Steven Spielberg and Trevorrow return to executive produce. Producers Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley once again partner with Spielberg and Trevorrow for this installment.
Joining the Jurassic team is Emily Carmichael (Pacific Rim Uprising, The Black Hole), who has co-written the Jurassic World 3 screenplay with Trevorrow. They worked from a story by Derek Connolly and Trevorrow, who together co-wrote Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
Trevorrow directed 2015’s Jurassic World, which went on to gross $1.67 billion worldwide and is the sixth-highest-grossing film in cinema history. Trevorrow will also continue to consult with Spielberg and Marshall on the management of the growing Jurassic brand, including video games, toys, novels, animated LEGO shorts and theme parks.
The Jurassic franchise has grossed more than $5 billion collectively at the worldwide box office. Jurassic World 3 will cause a global impact tremor in theaters on June 11, 2021.
