Netflix has released the Da 5 Bloods trailer, which previews the new Spike Lee movie coming to the streaming service on June 12, 2020. Da 5 Bloods is the story of four African-American Vets who battle the forces of man and nature when they return to Vietnam seeking the remains of their fallen Squad Leader and the gold fortune he helped them hide.
Directed by Spike Lee, the film was written by Danny Bilson, Paul DeMeo, Kevin Willmott, and Lee. It was produced by Lloyd Levin, Beatriz Levin, Jon Kilik, and Lee. The executive producers are Jonathan Filley, Barry Levine, and Mike Bundlie. The cinematographer is BAFTA nominee Newton Thomas Sigel (Bohemian Rhapsody, Drive).
Da 5 Bloods stars Delroy Lindo, Jonathan Majors, Clarke Peters, Norm Lewis, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Mélanie Thierry, Paul Walter Hauser, Jasper Pääkkönen, Johnny Trí Nguyễn, Van Veronica Ngo, with Jean Reno, and Chadwick Boseman.
Da 5 Bloods marks Netflix’s fourth collaboration with Lee. He previously wrote and directed She’s Gotta Have it and directed Roger Guenveur Smith’s one man show Rodney King for Netflix. Lee also produced the Netflix time-travel feature film See You Yesterday.
