-

Netflix has released the Da 5 Bloods poster this Memorial Day and you can view the full poster below. Director Spike Lee will also do an Instagram Live today at noon Pacific Time / 3 p.m. EST.

Coming to the streaming service on June 12, 2020, Da 5 Bloods is the story of four African-American Vets who battle the forces of man and nature when they return to Vietnam seeking the remains of their fallen Squad Leader and the gold fortune he helped them hide.

Da 5 Bloods stars Delroy Lindo, Jonathan Majors, Clarke Peters, Norm Lewis, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Mélanie Thierry, Paul Walter Hauser, Jasper Pääkkönen, Johnny Trí Nguyễn, Van Veronica Ngo, with Jean Reno, and Chadwick Boseman.

The film was written by Danny Bilson, Paul DeMeo, Kevin Willmott, and Lee. It was produced by Lloyd Levin, Beatriz Levin, Jon Kilik, and Lee. The executive producers are Jonathan Filley, Barry Levine, and Mike Bundlie. The cinematographer is BAFTA nominee Newton Thomas Sigel (Bohemian Rhapsody, Drive).

From Academy Award winner Spike Lee comes a New Joint: the story of four African American Vets — Paul (Delroy Lindo), Otis (Clarke Peters), Eddie (Norm Lewis), and Melvin (Isiah Whitlock, Jr.) — who return to Vietnam.

Searching for the remains of their fallen Squad Leader (Chadwick Boseman) and the promise of buried treasure, our heroes, joined by Paul’s concerned son (Jonathan Majors), battle forces of Man and Nature – while confronted by the lasting ravages of The Immorality of The Vietnam War.

Da 5 Bloods marks Netflix’s fourth collaboration with Lee. He previously wrote and directed She’s Gotta Have it and directed Roger Guenveur Smith’s one man show Rodney King for Netflix. Lee also produced the Netflix time-travel feature film See You Yesterday.
