Coronavirus Cold Open and John Mulaney Saturday Night Live Clips

NBC has released clips from last night’s Saturday Night Live episode, which kicked off with the Coronavirus Cold Open and featured John Mulaney returning as host for the third time.

In the Coronavirus Cold Open, Vice President Mike Pence (Beck Bennett) holds a White House press conference to update the American public about the coronavirus and fields questions from Democratic presidential candidates Michael Bloomberg (Fred Armisen), Bernie Sanders (Larry David), Elizabeth Warren (Kate McKinnon), Joe Biden (John Mulaney), Pete Buttigieg (Colin Jost) and Amy Klobuchar (Rachel Dratch).

David Byrne returned to studio 8H to perform as “SNL” musical guest. He currently appears on Broadway in the critically-acclaimed production David Byrne’s American Utopia.

In addition to the Coronavirus Cold Open and David Byrne performances, the episode also featured John Mulaney’s (John Mulaney & the Sack Lunch BunchSpider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) monologue, in which he does stand-up about hosting the first Saturday Night Live on Leap Year Day, having a baby boomer dad with no friends and his Make-A-Wish experience.

Below, you’ll find more skits, the full “Weekend Update” in three parts, as well as two skits that were cut for time. In the videos, watch out for cameos from Justin Theroux in “Kyle’s Transformation” and Jake Gyllenhaal in “Airport Sushi.”

NBC recently announced that Daniel Craig will host “SNL” for the second time on March 7. Craig returns as James Bond in No Time to Die, in theaters April 10. Global star The Weeknd will make his third appearance as “SNL” musical guest that day.

Saturday Night Live is produced in association with Broadway Video. The creator and executive producer is Lorne Michaels.
