Colin Farrell and Michelle Dockery Join Guy Ritchie’s Toff Guys

Colin Farrell (DumboWidows) and Michelle Dockery (Downton AbbeyGood Behavior) have joined the cast of Guy Ritchie’s new film, Toff Guys, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Dockery is replacing Kate Beckinsale as the wife of Matthew McConaughey’s character in the movie, which also stars Henry Golding, Hugh Grant and Jeremy Strong.

In Toff Guys, Ritchie will explore the collision between old money European wealth and the modern marijuana industrial complex with new gang entrants swarming. McConaughey plays a businessman who has built a weed empire and now wants out. Golding will play a Vietnamese gangster and Grant is a photographer.

Farrell will play a character named Coach, a man who trains MMA fighters.

Miramax paid $30 million for the worldwide rights to the film at the Cannes Film Festival. At the time, the company said that Ritchie will provide his signature hyper-real, high energy, and narratively intricate style to the piece, creating a universe full of distinctive, richly-observed, and unforgettable characters.

“Movies like ‘Snatch’ and ‘Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels’ launched Guy’s career and opened up a new genre to audiences. We are thrilled to work with a master filmmaker in his element who is committed to delivering a super fun kick ass theatrical experience,” Miramax CEO Bill Block said previously.

Ritchie wrote the script with Marn Davies and Ivan Atkinson. Production is already underway.
