Chance the Rapper, Uzo Aduba Join Steven Universe the Movie

Chance the Rapper, Patti Lupone, Uzo Aduba and more have joined the cast of the upcoming Steven Universe the Movie, the musical version of the Cartoon Network show coming later this year. Cartoon Network’s Steven Universe returns this fall with the highly-anticipated musical Steven Universe The Movie, featuring collaborations with an all-star lineup of multiple award-winning artists including Chance The Rapper, Estelle, Patti LuPone, Uzo Aduba, Gallant, Aimee Mann, and much more.

The epic music-filled adventure for Steven and his friends will overflow with more new songs and music than ever before. In his first television movie scheduled for this fall, Steven thinks his time defending the Earth is over, but when a new threat comes to Beach City, Steven faces his biggest challenge yet.

The film is executive produced by Cartoon Network Studios and Rebecca Sugar. Chance The Rapper co-executive produces with Kat Morris, Joe Johnston, Alonso Ramirez Ramos and Ian Jones-Quartey.

The film comes from the Emmy-nominated, and Peabody Award-and GLAAD Media Award-winning team behind Cartoon Network’s hit series Steven Universe. The series is created by Emmy and Annie Award-nominated writer and New York Times bestselling author Rebecca Sugar, and produced by Cartoon Network Studios. Two digital albums, Steven Universe: Volume 2 Soundtrack and Steven Universe: Karaoke, are available for digital download and streaming now. Episodes of Steven Universe are available on Cartoon Network, the CN App and VOD.
