Crunchyroll and Adult Swim revealed new trailers for Blade Runner: Black Lotus and Shenmue the Animation at the New York Comic Con. The premiere date for Blade Runner: Black Lotus was also announced.

New Blade Runner: Black Lotus and Shenmue the Animation Trailers

The highly-anticipated Crunchyroll and Adult Swim Original series Blade Runner: Black Lotus is set to premiere on November 13 at 9 p.m. PT with two new back-to-back episodes.

The Future of Blade Runner: Black Lotus virtual panel at the New York Comic also revealed the trailer and key art for the series. The panel featured Shinji Aramaki (co-director), Kenji Kamiyama (co-director), Joseph Chou (executive producer), and futurist Maurice Conti, who shared his take on how the Blade Runner world stacks up against our own future.

Blade Runner: Black Lotus is set in Los Angeles 2032. A young woman wakes up with no memories, and possessing deadly skills. The only clues to her mystery are a locked data device and a tattoo of a black lotus.

Putting together the pieces, she must hunt down the people responsible for her brutal and bloody past to find the truth of her lost identity.

The series is produced by Alcon Entertainment and animation studio Sola Digital Arts, with Shinichiro Watanabe serving as a creative producer.

Adult Swim will air the English-language version on Toonami, the network’s popular anime programming block and Crunchyroll will stream the series in Japanese with subtitles to its global audience of more than 5 million subscribers and more than 120 million registered users.

Fans also got a first look at Shenmue the Animation, the upcoming Crunchyroll and Adult Swim Original series during the Shenmue: Continuing the Legacy virtual panel that featured Yu Suzuki (Shenmue video game creator) and how he brought his SEGA creations to life through anime.

The additional panelists included Chikara Sakurai (director), Yû Kiyozono (producer, Telecom Animation), Joseph Chou (producer, Sola Entertainment).

Shenmue the Animation

Based on the SEGA game franchise, Shenmue follows the journey of Ryo Hazuki. After he witnesses his father’s murder at the family dojo, Ryo dedicates his life to finding the man responsible – a mission that takes him from the streets of Yokosuka, Japan to the sprawling metropolis of Hong Kong, and beyond.

Soon he will learn that larger, mystical forces are at play as he trains to become the ultimate martial artist in his quest for revenge.
