Black Summer Season 2 Given the Green Light by Netflix

Netflix has given the green light to Black Summer Season 2, which will start production in Alberta, Canada in 2020. Just like the first season, the second season will consist of eight episodes.

Black Summer followers survivors of a cataclysmic event who contend with zombies — and each other — to reach a military evacuation site. Jaime King stars as a mother, torn from her daughter, who embarks upon a harrowing journey, stopping at nothing to find her. Thrust alongside a small group of American refugees, she must brave a hostile new world and make brutal decisions during the most deadly summer of a zombie apocalypse.

Jaime King will return as Rose and serve as a producer on Black Summer Season 2. Also returning are Justin Chu Cary as Spears and Christine Lee as Kyungsun.

The Netflix Studio Production is created by Karl Schaefer (Z Nation) and John Hyams (Z Nation) and produced by The Asylum. Hyams will serve as showrunner for the second season. Abram Cox also is a writer/executive producer on the series.

The first season premiered on the streaming service on April 11, 2019.
