In related news, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema announced today that free early screenings of Bill and Ted Face the Music will take place at its theaters on August 26. “Our guests love the guys from Wyld Stallyns, so that’s why we’re stoked to be the first theater company to show Bill & Ted Face the Music – one day early and for free – on Wednesday, August 26th,” said Senior Vice President Steve Bunnell.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome everyone back to Alamo Drafthouse,” added Alamo Drafthouse CEO Shelli Taylor.

“Tenet, The New Mutants and Bill & Ted Face the Music are made for the big screen experience. We’ve all dearly missed going to the movies, and with our many enhanced safety protocols we feel that we can come together again confidently and securely.”

Bill and Ted Face the Music will be available On Demand and in select theaters on Friday, August 28.

Bill and Ted Face the Music stars Alex Winter, Keanu Reeves, William Sadler, Samara Weaving, Brigette Lundy-Paine, and Scott Mescudi (Kid Cudi), and Kristen Schaal.

Also appearing in the film are Anthony Carrigan, Erinn Hayes, Jayma Mays, Jillian Bell, Holland Taylor, Beck Bennett, William Sadler, Hal Landon Jr., and Amy Stoch.

Directed by Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest, Red 2, Fun with Dick and Jane) from a script by returning franchise writers Chris Matheson (Imagine That, A Goofy Movie) and Ed Solomon (Men in Black, Mosaic), the film will continue to track the time-traveling exploits of William ‘Bill’ S. Preston Esq. and Theodore ‘Ted’ Logan.

Yet to fulfill their rock and roll destiny, the now middle aged best friends set out on a new adventure when a visitor from the future warns them that only their song can save life as we know it.

Along the way, they will be helped by their daughters, a new batch of historical figures, and a few music legends – to seek the song that will set their world right and bring harmony in the universe.

Bill & Ted Face The Music is produced by Scott Kroopf (Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, Limitless) alongside Alex Lebovici and Steve Ponce on behalf of Hammerstone Studios.

Steven Soderbergh, R. Scott Reid, John Ryan Jr., Scott Fischer and John Santilli are serving as executive producers.

The film is financed by media entrepreneur and producer David Haring along with Patrick Dugan of Dugan Entertainment. Orion Pictures will release the sci-fi adventure comedy through United Artists Releasing.
