Prime Video has revealed the premiere date for “Betty’s” iconic comeback in the highly anticipated series Betty La Fea, The Story Continues, coming to Prime Video on July 19, 2024.
The new series is the sequel to the Colombian telenovela that inspired ABC’s Ugly Betty. It will stream exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
The dramedy, based on the highly acclaimed telenovela Yo soy Betty, la Fea will feature the onscreen duo from the original series, Ana María Orozco (Cochina Envidia) and Jorge Enrique Abello (Last One Laughing Colombia-LOL CO).
Also returning are original cast members Julián Arango (Rigo), Natalia Ramírez (MANES), Lorna Cepeda (Amas de casa desesperadas), Luces Velásquez (Sin senos sí hay paraíso), Marcela Posada (Todos quieren con Marilyn), Mario Duarte (Francisco el matemático), Julio Cesar Herrera (Sin senos sí hay paraíso), Ricardo Vélez (El último matrimonio feliz), Alberto León Jaramillo (La vida después del reality) and Estefanía Gómez.
Rodrigo Candamil (A grito herido), Juanita Molina (MANES), Zharick León (La viuda de blanco), and Sebastián Osorio (Pasión de gavilanes) also join the cast.
Betty La Fea, The Story Continues, an RCN Estudios production for Prime Video, tells the story of the iconic Beatriz Pinzón Solano 20 years after the conclusion of the original show.
While an empowered and wiser Betty works hard to rebuild her relationship with her teenage daughter Mila, her relationship with Armando begins to deteriorate, making her question if she made the right decision 20 years ago.
Considered by Guinness World Records as the most successful telenovela in history, Yo soy Betty, la Fea has aired in 180 countries, dubbed into 15 languages, and has been adapted in up to 28 territories, including India, South Africa, and the U.S.
