The Bad Moms franchise is growing with a new installment titled Bad Moms’ Moms, STXfilms announced today at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. The film looks to be focusing on the parent roles played by Christine Baranski, Cheryl Hines, and Susan Sarandon in the second film, A Bad Moms Christmas.
The first film opened in July of 2016 and went on to earn $183.9 million worldwide on a budget of just $20 million. The Christmas-themed sequel followed in November of 2017 and grossed $130.6 million on a budget of $28 million.
A Bad Moms Christmas centered on the three under-appreciated and over-burdened women — played by Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, and Kathryn Hahn — as they rebel against the challenges and expectations of the Super Bowl for moms: Christmas. And if creating a more perfect holiday for their families wasn’t hard enough, they have to do all of that while hosting and entertaining their own mothers.
It’s unclear if Kunis, Bell, and Hahn would make appearances in the new film.
STXfilms had previously announced they would be making the spinoff Bad Dads, but that appears to no longer be the case.
