The Walt Disney Company today reported quarterly earnings for its second fiscal quarter and revealed that the Avengers: Endgame streaming launch has been set for December 11th on Disney+.
“We’re very pleased with our Q2 results and thrilled with the record-breaking success of Avengers: Endgame, which is now the second-highest grossing film of all time and will stream exclusively on Disney+ starting December 11th,” said Robert A. Iger, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, The Walt Disney Company. Disney+ will launch a month earlier on November 12th.
“The positive response to our direct-to-consumer strategy has been gratifying, and the integration of the businesses we acquired from 21st Century Fox only increases our confidence in our ability to leverage decades of iconic storytelling and the powerful creative engines across the entire company to deliver an extraordinary value proposition to consumers,” Iger added.
Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame currently stands as the No. 2 international and global release of all-time as well as the sixth-highest grossing domestic release of all time. The movie has earned $652.9 million domestically and $1.650 billion internationally, for a global total of $2.303 billion.
In Marvel Studios‘ Avengers: Infinity War, members from every MCU franchise sacrificed like never before in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin could put an end to the universe. The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to 22 films, Avengers: Endgame.
Kevin Feige produces Avengers: Endgame, and Anthony and Joe Russo are the directors. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo, Trinh Tran, Jon Favreau, James Gunn and Stan Lee are the executive producers, and Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely wrote the screenplay.
