Netflix today announced it has entered into an agreement with Ubisoft to develop content based on the international best-selling video game franchise Assassin’s Creed. The first Assassin’s Creed series in development is slated to be an epic, genre-bending live action adaptation; a search is currently underway for a showrunner.
Ubisoft Film & Television’s Jason Altman and Danielle Kreinik will serve as Executive Producers.
Under the agreement, Netflix and Ubisoft will tap into the iconic video game’s trove of dynamic stories with global mass appeal for adaptations of live action, animated, and anime series.

Since it first launched in 2007, the Assassin’s Creed series has sold more than 155 million games worldwide. The franchise is now established as one of the best-selling series in video game history.
Recognized for having some of the richest, most engrossing storytelling in the industry, Assassin’s Creed transcends video games, branching out into numerous other entertainment media.
The next game in the Assassin’s Creed series is Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (pre-order at Amazon), which offers players the captivating experience of playing as Eivor, a legendary Viking raider, in a beautiful and mysterious open world set against the brutal backdrop of England’s Dark Ages.
Players can take advantage of new features, including raids, weapon dual-wielding, and settlement building.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will release worldwide on November 10, 2020 on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, the Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Store on Windows PC, as well as on UPLAY+, Ubisoft’s subscription service and Stadia.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will release on PlayStation 5 alongside the launch of the console from November 12, 2020. The game will launch on Amazon Luna alongside the launch of the Ubisoft channel.
