The Arcane series dives into the delicate balance between the rich city of Piltover and the seedy underbelly of Zaun. Tensions between these city-states boil over with the creation of hextech — a way for any person to control magical energy — in Piltover; and in Zaun, a new drug called shimmer transforms humans into monsters.

The rivalry between the cities splits families and friends as Arcane brings life to the relationships that shape some of League of Legends‘ famous champions including Vi, Jinx, Caitlyn, Jayce and Viktor. Based on the world behind the game League of Legends, the animated event series features a complex world filled with moral decisions, breathtaking animation and suspenseful storytelling.

Created by Christian Linke and Alex Yee, Arcane features the voices of Hailee Steinfeld (Vi), Ella Purnell (Jinx), Katie Leung (Caitlyn Kiramman), Kevin Alejandro (Jayce), Harry Lloyd (Viktor), Mick Wingert (Heimerdinger), Brett Tucker (Singed), JB Blanc (Vander), and Yuri Lowenthal (Mylo).

Also voicing characters are Roger Craig Smith (Claggor), Shohreh Aghdashloo (Grayson), Remy Hii (Marcus), Toks Olagundoye (Mel Medarda), Jason Spisak (Silco), and Mia Sinclair Jenness (Powder).

The executive producers include Christian Linke, Marc Merrill, Brandon Beck, Jane Chung, and Thomas Vu. The co-executive producers are Pascal Charrue, Arnaud Delord, Jerôme Combe, Alex Yee, Melinda Wunsch Dilger, and Ash Brannon.

The series is directed by Pascal Charrue and Arnaud Delord. The writers are Christian Linke, Alex Yee, Conor Sheehy, Ash Brannon, Nick Luddington, David Dunne, Ben St. John, and Mollie St. John.

The series marks Riot Games’ first series for television. Arcane is an animated series developed and produced by Riot Games in partnership with Fortiche Productions.

“League of Legends has inspired global fervor and fandom and we’re thrilled to be the home of the first television series set in this universe, Arcane,” said Dominique Bazay, Director, Original Animation for Netflix. “The series promises to be a visually spectacular thrill ride that will have viewers on the edge of their seats.”

Shauna Spenley, Global President of Entertainment at Riot Games, added: “Arcane was created as a love letter to our players and fans, who have been asking us for more cinematic experiences that dive deeper into the worlds and champions in League of Legends.

“Netflix, with its incredible global brand and shared goal of delivering premium, high quality content, is the perfect partner to help us bring Arcane to players around the globe.”
