Ad Astra Featurette Launched on Apollo 11’s 50th Anniversary

On the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing, Disney’s 20th Century Fox has debuted a new Ad Astra featurette that you can watch below. We’ve also received some new photos from the film which you can view in the gallery underneath.

In addition to the Ad Astra featurette, a new trailer for the September 20 release also debuted this week and can still be watched by clicking here.

Directed by James Gray, the sci-fi film stars Brad Pitt as astronaut Roy McBride, who travels to the outer edges of the solar system to find his missing father and unravel a mystery that threatens the survival of our planet. His journey will uncover secrets that challenge the nature of human existence and our place in the cosmos.

The movie also stars Tommy Lee Jones, Ruth Negga, Liv Tyler, and Donald Sutherland.

James Gray previously talked about his goal for the movie. “What I’m trying to do is the most realistic depiction of space travel that’s been put in a movie and to basically say, ‘Space is awfully hostile to us.’ It’s kind of a Heart of Darkness story about traveling to the outer edge of our solar system,” he said.

Regency Enterprises and Fox produced the movie with Bona Film Investment Company, which is handling the China release.
