Acorn TV April 2023 Schedule Announced

Acorn TV has announced the titles that are coming to the AMC-owned streaming service in April. The Acorn TV April 2023 lineup adds to the service’s wide variety of acclaimed English and foreign-language dramas, engaging comedies, documentaries and more.

The Acorn TV April 2023 schedule includes Acorn TV Originals such as The Brokenwood Mysteries Season 9, Murdoch Mysteries Season 16, Happy Valley Season 2, and Dalgliesh Season 2.

The Brokenwood Mysteries Season 9 (Acorn TV Exclusive) – New Season Premieres Monday April 3
This quirky New Zealand mystery follows DI Mike Shepard, who arrives to the seemingly peaceful town of Brokenwood with classic car, a country music collection and an indeterminate number of ex-wives.

His assistant, DC Kristin Sims, is a by-the-book investigator 15 years younger than her boss’s car. Shepard soon discovers that Brokenwood is full of secrets and suspicions.

Murdoch Mysteries Season 16 (Acorn TV Exclusive) – New Episodes Premiere Mondays
The internationally-acclaimed series continues to explore the personal and professional developments in the lives of Detective William Murdoch (Yannick Bisson), Dr. Julia Ogden (Hélène Joy), Inspector Thomas Brackenreid (Thomas Craig), Constables George Crabtree (Jonny Harris) and Henry Higgins-Newsome (Lachlan Murdoch), and Detective Llewellyn Watts (Daniel Maslany).

Dalgliesh Season 2 (Acorn TV Original) – New Season Premieres Monday April 24
The new season is based on three more P.D. James novels – Death of an Expert Witness, A Certain Justice and The Murder Room — with Bertie Carvel (Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norell) reprising his role as the enigmatic chief investigator.

Despite this, he returns to the courtroom when an old friend, Martin Newall (Nathaniel Parker, The Beast Must Die), finds himself facing murder and conspiracy charges while being investigated by spiteful detective DS Mark Wenborn (Charlie Creed-Miles, The Fifth Element). This psychological thriller examines morality and the question of what a defense barrister is to do after finding out that his client is guilty.
