Jurassic World: Dominion returned to filming over a month ago and now director Colin Trevorrow is giving fans a new tease that will have fans wondering what to expect. A photo the filmmaker shared with Jurassic Outpost features a lab and a cold storage container labeled with “InGen” and “Site B Isla Sorna.”
Obviously the cold storage has embryos from Isla Sorna, but what is most interesting to us is the old phone on the wall. That suggests to us that it might be a flashback in the upcoming film.
The site says: “With the recent confirmation of the return of Lewis Dodgson, it’s a pretty safe bet this location is inside of a Biosyn laboratory. While this picture alone does not confirm we will actually see the box’s recovery from Sorna, we can imagine the island is going to play a role in the plot of the upcoming film.”
The last time we saw Isla Sorna was when Dr. Grant and Co. crash landed on the island in Jurassic Park III.
In related news, both Sam Neill and Laura Dern have teased their return to the franchise as Dr. Alan Grant and Dr. Ellie Sattler. As you can see above, Neill posted a photo of Grant’s iconic hat in the franchise.
Below, you’ll also see Dern’s post featuring the chairs for both her and Neill which have their character names on them.
The Jurassic World: Dominion cast will be led by Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, who are returning from Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Also reprising their roles from the first film in the trilogy are Jake Johnson and Omar Sy, while Daniella Pineda and Justice Smith are coming back as their Fallen Kingdom characters.
The upcoming movie will see the return of Jurassic Park stars Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum reprising their roles as Dr. Alan Grant, Dr. Ellie Sattler, and Dr. Ian Malcolm.
BD Wong will return as Dr. Henry Wu, while Campbell Scott will play Dr. Lewis Dodgson, who was previously portrayed by Cameron Thor in the original Jurassic Park.
Newcomers to the cast include DeWanda Wise and Mamoudou Athie.
Colin Trevorrow is returning to direct the third chapter in Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment’s Jurassic World saga. Steven Spielberg and Trevorrow return to executive produce. Producers Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley once again partner with Spielberg and Trevorrow for this installment.
Joining the Jurassic team is Emily Carmichael (Pacific Rim Uprising, The Black Hole), who has co-written the Jurassic World 3 screenplay with Trevorrow. They worked from a story by Derek Connolly and Trevorrow, who together co-wrote Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
Trevorrow directed 2015’s Jurassic World, which went on to gross $1.67 billion worldwide and is the sixth-highest-grossing film in cinema history. Trevorrow will also continue to consult with Spielberg and Marshall on the management of the growing Jurassic brand, including video games, toys, novels, animated LEGO shorts and theme parks.
The Jurassic franchise has grossed more than $5 billion collectively at the worldwide box office. Jurassic World: Dominion is scheduled to hit theaters on June 11, 2021.
