Sundance Now, Shudder and AMC+ today announced the A Discovery of Witches Season 3 release date and debuted a new promo for the final season. You can watch the promo by scrolling down.

The A Discovery of Witches Season 3 release date has been set for Saturday, January 8, 2022 on all three platforms in the U.S. The third season finds Matthew (Matthew Goode) and Diana (Teresa Palmer) returning from 1590 to present day and combating what they left behind.

In addition to Goode and Palmer, the series features a strong ensemble cast including Owen Teale, Malin Buska, Alex Kingston, Aiysha Hart, Edward Bluemel, Lindsay Duncan, Peter McDonald, Trevor Eve, and Gregg Chillin.

The cast also includes Adelle Leonce, Tanya Moodie, Daniel Ezra, Toby Regbo, Steven Cree, Jacob Ifan, Ivanno Jeremiah, Greg McHugh, Olivier Huband, Paul Rhys, and Parker Sawyers.

A Discovery of Witches Season 3 is based on The Book of Life novel from Deborah Harkness’s bestselling All Souls series and is the third and final installment.

A Discovery of Witches is a Sky Original series and was commissioned by Zai Bennett, Managing Director of Content, Sky UK. Kara Manley is the executive producer for Sky Studios and the show is made by Bad Wolf.

The executive producers for Bad Wolf are Lachlan MacKinnon, Jane Tranter, Deborah Harkness, Lisa Holdsworth, Helen Raynor.

The 10-part second season found Diana and Matthew hiding in time in the fascinating and treacherous world of Elizabethan London. Here they must find a powerful witch teacher to help Diana control her magic and search for the elusive Book of Life.

Back in present day, Diana’s beloved aunts, Sarah (Alex Kingston) and Em (Valarie Pettiford), must take shelter with notorious witch hunter Ysabeau de Clermont (Lindsay Duncan) at her ancestral home, Sept-Tours.

Meanwhile, in Oxford, Marcus (Edward Bluemel) and Miriam (Aiysha Hart) take on Matthew’s mantle to protect daemons Nathaniel (Daniel Ezra) and Sophie (Aisling Loftus), whose pregnancy is advancing.

And Gerbert (Trevor Eve), Knox (Owen Teale), Satu (Malin Buska) and Domenico (Gregg Chillin) are determined to hunt down every clue they can to Diana’s and Matthew’s disappearance, and the secrets their allies are keeping from them.

Season two of the hit series remains one of the most popular shows in the history of Sundance Now. On Shudder, A Discovery of Witches is one of the most watched scripted series to date in 2021 and has among the highest social engagement for any scripted series.
