In 30 Coins Season 2, most residents of Pedraza, a remote town in Spain plagued by inexplicable, demonic events, have lost their minds and are confined to a psychiatric hospital.
Elena (Megan Montaner) lies comatose in a Madrid hospital bed; Paco (Miguel Ángel Silvestre), shattered by remorse, tries to take care of her.
As horror intensifies around them, our group of heroes must face a mysterious new enemy (Paul Giamatti) – someone so perverse that even the devil fears him.
The returning cast includes Eduard Fernández, Megan Montaner, Miguel Ángel Silvestre, Macarena Gómez, Pepón Nieto, Cósimo Fusco, Manolo Solo, Nuria González, Javier Bódalo, and Manuel Tallafé.
Joining the cast for 30 Coins Season 2 are Paul Giamatti (Billions) and Najwa Nimri. The series is directed by Álex de la Iglesia and co-written by Álex de la Iglesia and Jorge Guerricaechevarría.
The executive producers for HBO Europe are Steve Matthews, Miguel Salvat and Antony Root. Álex de la Iglesia and Carolina Bang are the executive producers for Pokeepsie Films.
The production services for the second season of 30 Coins are provided by Anciana Milenaria S.L., a Pokeepsie Films company.
The second season was filmed in Spain, Italy, the United States, France, and the United Kingdom.
“If the first season was the gathering of the storm clouds, the second will be the maelstrom preceding an epic storm,” said Álex de la Iglesia previously.
He added: “The characters are involved in a hellish plot, where death and resurrection are two sides of the same coin.”
About the addition of Giamatti, de la Iglesia said: “Paul Giamatti is probably one of the best actors in the American film industry. HBO has brought me the incredible opportunity of working with him.
“I would also like to thank his team who, fortunately, knew my filmography. I appreciate the trust placed in me.”
