Emily in Paris Series Moves from Paramount Network to Netflix

-

The Emily in Paris series is moving from Paramount Network to Netflix, the streaming service announced today. Created, written and executive produced by Darren Star, the romantic comedy series will release on Netflix this fall.

In the Emily in Paris series, Emily is an ambitious twenty-something marketing executive from Chicago who unexpectedly lands her dream job in Paris when her company acquires a French luxury marketing company. She is tasked with revamping their social media strategy.

Emily’s new life in Paris is filled with intoxicating adventures and surprising challenges as she juggles winning over her work colleagues, making friends, and navigating new romances.

“MTV Studios and I couldn’t hope for a more perfect home for Emily in Paris than Netflix,” said Darren Star. “With their international reach, we are excited to share Emily with audiences around the world.”

Lily Collins (Rules Don’t Apply, To the Bone) will star and serves as producer. The cast also includes Ashley Park (Mean Girls on Broadway, Tales of the City), Philippine Leroy Beaulieu (Call My Agent!), Lucas Bravo (Smart Ass), Samuel Arnold (Antony & Cleopatra), Camille Razat (The 15:17 to Paris), and Bruno Gouery (Doc Martin).

The recurring cast members include Kate Walsh (The Umbrella Academy), William Abadie (Resident Evil: Extinction) and Arnaud Viard (Clara et Moi).

The Emily in Paris series, which was filmed in Paris and throughout France, will consist of ten 30-minute episodes. From MTV Studios, it is executive produced by Tony Hernandez and Lilly Burns of Jax Media, and Andrew Fleming.

When Collins was announced as the star and producer, she said: “To be not only starring in a TV show created by Darren but also producing it with him… is a real ‘pinch me’ moment. All of Darren’s shows have deeply defined, greatly impacted, and undeniably helped me navigate my journey into womanhood. I couldn’t imagine a more inspiring city to be our Emily in Paris home than Paris. What an absolute dream project!”

“I’ve always been fascinated by the expat experience,” said Star. “I can’t think of anyone better to bring this beautiful world to life than Lily Collins.”
