We’ve seen two trailers now for Christopher Nolan’s anticipated movie, but both of those promos didn’t include a line like the one in the just-released Tenet TV spot. In the Tenet TV spot, which you can watch below, Clémence Poésy’s character says: “It’s inverted. Someone is manufacturing them in the future.”
Robert Pattinson has previously said that Tenet is not a time travel movie, but it of course does include time inversion. We know from the trailers and this TV spot that John David Washington’s character reverses objects’ time using a green glove. How all of it will play out in the larger scheme is unknown, however.
Tenet is expected to be the first big wide release in theaters again and it never moved from its July 17 release date, despite current events.
Tenet, which was filmed on location across seven countries, is an action epic evolving from the world of international espionage. Christopher Nolan is directing from his own original screenplay, utilizing a mixture of IMAX and 70mm film to bring the story to the screen.
The international ensemble cast is led by John David Washington (BlacKkKlansman) and also stars Robert Pattinson (Twilight films, upcoming The Batman), Elizabeth Debicki, Dimple Kapadia, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Clémence Poésy, with Michael Caine and Kenneth Branagh.
The film is being produced by Nolan and Emma Thomas. Thomas Hayslip is serving as executive producer. The movie reportedly carries a budget of $205 million, making it Nolan’s most expensive original film.
Nolan’s behind-the-scenes creative team includes director of photography Hoyte van Hoytema, production designer Nathan Crowley, editor Jennifer Lame, costume designer Jeffrey Kurland, and visual effects supervisor Andrew Jackson.
The Warner Bros. released is a Syncopy Production and the score is being composed by Ludwig Göransson.
