Hot Toys has announced two versions of a new 1/6th scale Golden Armor Wonder Woman collectible figure based on the upcoming Wonder Woman 1984. Both the Deluxe Version (pre-order here) and normal version (pre-order here) will be available between April and June of 2021.
The movie-accurate figures are crafted based on the image of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman in the anticipated movie. They feature a newly-developed head sculpt with long curly dark brown real fabric hair, a specialized body tailored for Wonder Woman, a set of massive armor wings in natural position, with each piece of the Golden Eagle Armor flaunting a subtle metallic shimmer, a shiny helmet, Wonder Woman’s signature weapon “Lasso of Truth,” and a specially designed figure stand.
Along with the figure and accessories, the Deluxe Version will also include an additional set of massive spread wings, measures approximately 67cm wide, designed with extended articulation for wider posing range that accentuates flying and stand-by mode, allowing fans to fully recreate the breathtaking aerial scenes.
Opening in theaters on August 14, 2020, Wonder Woman 1984 fast forwards to the 1980s and will have Wonder Woman facing all-new foes. She is now working at the Natural History Museum in Washington, D.C., and lives quietly, still mourning the loves she’s left behind.
Director Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman 1984 stars Gal Gadot in the title role, alongside Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Kristen Wiig as Super-Villain The Cheetah, Pedro Pascal as Max Lord, Robin Wright as Antiope and Connie Nielsen as Hippolyta.
Jenkins directs from a screenplay she wrote with Geoff Johns and Dave Callaham, from a story by Jenkins and Johns. The film is based on characters from DC. Wonder Woman was created by William Moulton Marston.
Charles Roven, Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder, Patty Jenkins, Gal Gadot and Stephen Jones are producing the film. Rebecca Steel Roven Oakley, Richard Suckle, Marianne Jenkins, Geoff Johns, Walter Hamada, Chantal Nong Vo and Wesley Coller are the executive producers.
Joining Jenkins behind the scenes are several members of her Wonder Woman team, including director of photography Matthew Jensen, Oscar-nominated production designer Aline Bonetto (Amélie), and Oscar-winning costume designer Lindy Hemming (Topsy-Turvy). Oscar-nominated editor Richard Pearson (United 93) is cutting the film.
Production took place in Washington, D.C., Alexandria, Virginia, and in the UK, Spain and the Canary Islands.
