Temuera Morrison to Play Boba Fett in The Mandalorian!

-

The cast for Disney+ series The Mandalorian Season 2 is steadily growing and a big name was added today. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Temuera Morrison will play Boba Fett in the second season of the popular live-action Star Wars series.

Temuera Morrison previously played Jango Fett and his clone troopers in Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones, as well as the clone troopers on Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith.

Morrison’s credits also include Once Were Warriors, its sequel What Becomes of the Broken Hearted?, Moana, Aquaman, and Dora and the Lost City of Gold.

Boba Fett (played by Jeremy Bulloch), a clone of Jango Fett, was a bounty hunter hired by Darth Vader to capture Han Solo in Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back. He had brief appearances in Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi and the Special Edition of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. Boba Fett also appeared in episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

The trade says that Boba Fett will only have a small role in Season 2 after he was teased in season one episode “The Gunslinger.”

The Mandalorian Season 2 is expected to debut on Disney+ in October with directors such as Peyton Reed and Robert Rodriguez directing episodes. The first season premiered on the streaming service on November 12, 2019.

Temuera Morrison joins more newcomers to the live-action Star Wars series. It was previously announced that Michael Biehn is playing what is said to be a bounty hunter, and Rosario Dawson is expected to play fan-favorite character Ahsoka Tano.

Curiously, the official description of The Mandalorian reads as follows: “After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. ‘The Mandalorian’ is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

Additional episodic directors of the first season included Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok).

The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal (Narcos) in the title role as a lone Mandalorian gunfighter, alongside Gina Carano (Deadpool), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Emily Swallow (Supernatural), Carl Weathers (Predator), Omid Abtahi (American Gods), Ming-Na Wen (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Werner Herzog (Grizzly Man), and Nick Nolte (Warrior).
