Extraction director Sam Hargrave and star Chris Hemsworth are taking fans behind the scenes today in a new video which shows how they filmed The Oner, a series of long shots that will be joined together seamlessly to form a single continuous shot. The Oner in the movie is an action-packed, 12-minute segment.
Coming to Netflix on April 24, Extraction was produced by the Russo brothers, who directed the Marvel Studios films Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame.
In the film, Tyler Rake (Hemsworth) is a fearless black market mercenary who embarks on the most deadly extraction of his career when he’s enlisted to rescue the kidnapped son of an imprisoned international crime lord.
Extraction was directed by stunt coordinator Sam Hargrave and also stars Rudhraksh Jaiswal, Randeep Hooda, Golshifteh Farahani, Pankaj Tripathi, Priyanshu Painyuli, and David Harbour.
The script was written by Joe Russo. Mike Larocca, Hemsworth, Eric Gitter, and Peter Schwerin also produced. Filming took place in India and Thailand.
The movie is officially described as follows: “Tyler Rake (Chris Hemsworth) is a fearless black market mercenary with nothing left to lose when his skills are solicited to rescue the kidnapped son of an imprisoned international crime lord.
“But in the murky underworld of weapons dealers and drug traffickers, an already deadly mission approaches the impossible, forever altering the lives of Rake and the boy.”
