Black Widow Release Date Pushed Back Indefinitely

With most of the movie theaters closing for the foreseeable future, The Walt Disney Company has decided to push back most of their May films as well. The Black Widow release date had been set for May 1st, but the movie will now open at a later, undetermined date.

Also being pushed back are The Personal History of David Copperfield (previously May 8, from Disney’s Searchlight Pictures) and The Woman in the Window (previously May 15, from Disney’s 20th Century Studios).

The films join A Quiet Place Part II, F9No Time to Die and Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway as some of the major films to be delayed due to the pandemic.

In Marvel Studios’ action-packed spy thriller Black Widow, Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises.

Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger.

Scarlett Johansson reprises her role as Natasha/Black Widow, Florence Pugh stars as Yelena, David Harbour portrays Alexei/The Red Guardian, and Rachel Weisz is Melina. Ray Winstone, William Hurt and O-T Fagbenle also star.

Directed by Cate Shortland and produced by Kevin Feige, Black Widow is the first film in Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The film is directed by Cate Shortland and produced by Kevin Feige. Written by Jac Schaeffer, Ned Benson and Eric Pearson, the movie is executive produced by Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Nigel Gostelow and Scarlett Johansson.

Johannson has played the role of Natasha Romanoff in Iron Man 2, The Avengers, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame.
