A Quiet Place Part II and The New Mutants Ratings Revealed

The MPA (formerly the MPAA) has given ratings to two anticipated March and April releases – the sequel A Quiet Place Part II and X-Men movie The New Mutants.

A Quiet Place Part II has been rated PG-13 for terror, violence and bloody/disturbing images. The rating is similar to the first film’s PG-13 for terror and some bloody images.

A Quiet Place Part II

On Wednesday, March 18th, Paramount Pictures will be offering A Quiet Place Double Feature feature so fans can relive original film in select theatres. Right after, they’ll be the first to go beyond the path and experience A Quiet Place Part II before it arrives in theatres nationwide, Friday, March 20th.

The start time for the double feature is 7:00PM local time at participating locations, with the sequel beginning at 9:00PM local time. This double feature will be presented exclusively in Dolby Cinema and Premium Large Format theatres only. You can get tickets for the double feature are available at AQuietPlacemovie.com.

A Quiet Place Part 2

In A Quiet Place Part II, following the deadly events at home, the Abbott family (Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe) must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.

The film is written and directed by John Krasinski, and based on characters created by Bryan Woods & Scott Beck. The sequel stars Blunt, Cillian Murphy, Simmonds, Jupe, Djimon Hounsou and John Krasinski.

A Quiet Place Sequel

The producers are Michael Bay, Andrew Form, Brad Fuller, John Krasinski, with Allyson Seeger, Joann Perritano, Aaron Janus executive producing.

A Quiet Place (buy at Amazon) opened in April 2018 and grossed an impressive $340.9 million worldwide on a budget of just $17 million. $188 million of the total came from domestic theaters and international markets brought in $152.9 million.

The New Mutants

Coming to theaters on April 3rd is 20th Century Studios’ final X-Men movie, The New Mutants, which has been rated PG-13 for violent content, some disturbing/bloody images, some strong language, thematic elements and suggestive material.

The New Mutants is an original horror thriller set in an isolated hospital where a group of young mutants is being held for psychiatric monitoring. When strange occurrences begin to take place, both their new mutant abilities and their friendships will be tested as they battle to try and make it out alive.

The New Mutants

The film’s cast includes Anya Taylor-Joy as Illyana Rasputin/Magik, a Russian mutant with sorcery powers and the sister of Colossus; Maisie Williams as Rahne Sinclair/Wolfsbane, a Scottish mutant with the power to turn into a wolf; Charlie Heaton as Sam Guthrie/Cannonball, an American mutant who can propel himself into the air; Henry Zaga as Roberto da Costa/Sunspot, a Brazilian mutant with the ability to manipulate solar energy; and Blu Hunt as Danielle Moonstar/Mirage, a Native American mutant who has the power to create illusions from the fears and desires of a person’s mind.

Alice Braga also stars as Cecilia Reyes, a mentor to the group and a medical doctor who has the ability to generate a protective bio-field around herself.

The New Mutants

Directed by Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars), The New Mutants was written by Boone and Knate Lee.

The producers are Simon Kinberg, Karen Rosenfelt, and Lauren Shuler Donner. The executive producers are Stan Lee and Michele Imperato Stabile. The movie is an adaptation of the comic book series created by Chris Claremont and Bob McLeod.
