Jon Stewart’s Irresistible Poster Sends in the Clowns

-

Focus Features has provided Vital Thrills with the Irresistible poster, which features Steve Carell and can be viewed in full below. We’ve also included the previously-released trailer underneath.

Jon Stewart’s new film will be released in domestic theaters on May 29, 2020. Universal Pictures International will release the movie internationally.

Written and directed by Jon Stewart, Irresistible is a comedy about what happens when a small Wisconsin town becomes the main attraction of our political circus.

After the Democrat’s top strategist Gary (Steve Carell) sees a video of a retired Marine Colonel (Chris Cooper) standing up for the rights of his town’s undocumented workers, Gary believes he has found the key to winning back the Heartland.

However, when the Republicans counter him by sending in his brilliant nemesis Faith (Rose Byrne), what started out as a local race quickly becomes an out-of-control and hilarious fight for the soul of America.

Irresistible stars Academy Award nominee Steve Carell, Rose Byrne, Academy Award winner Chris Cooper, Topher Grace, Natasha Lyonne, Mackenzie Davis, CJ Wilson and Will Sasso. Plan B Entertainment and Jon Stewart produced.

“In the age of fake news, Jon Stewart continues to be the real deal. He’s been making us laugh at the bipartisan commitment to bending the truth for years, and we couldn’t be more excited to partner with him and Plan B as Jon brings his signature wit to the big screen with the incredibly versatile talents of Steve, Rose, and Chris,” said Focus Features chairman Peter Kujawski previously.

Stewart has won 22 Emmy Awards as the host, writer and executive producer of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and as a creator and executive producer on The Colbert Report. He is currently an executive producer on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

Stewart is a two-time host of the Academy Awards and a New York Times best-selling author who has written America (The Book): A Citizen’s Guide to Democracy Inaction and Earth (The Book): A Visitor’s Guide to the Human Race. Stewart previously directed the 2014 drama Rosewater.
