Sony Pictures has revealed the first two posters for the upcoming Monster Hunter movie which you can view below. The posters feature Milla Jovovich and Tony Jaa in the September 4, 2020 release.
In the posters, Milla Jovovich is shown as Lieutenant Artemis and holding a Great Sword, the Giant Jawblade. Tony Jaa plays The Hunter and is holding the Great Hunter’s Bow. Let us know what you think about the posters in the comments!
Both of the Monster Hunter posters will be given out in miniature form at the Monster Hunter Festa event taking place at PAX East on Saturday, February 29. The event begins at 8 p.m. at The Royale on 279 Tremont St. in Boston. Festa celebrates all things Monster Hunter and will have food, drinks, and exclusive giveaways.
In the film, behind our world, there is another: a world of dangerous and powerful monsters that rule their domain with deadly ferocity. When Lt. Artemis (Milla Jovovich) and her elite unit are transported through a portal from our world to a new world, they are in for the shock of their lives.
In her desperate attempt to get home, the brave lieutenant encounters a mysterious hunter (Tony Jaa), whose unique skills have allowed him to survive in this hostile land. Faced with relentless and terrifying attacks from the monsters, the warriors team up to fight back and find a way home.
Tip “T.I.” Harris, Meagan Good, Diego Boneta, Josh Helman, Jin Au-Yeung and Ron Perlman co-star in the video game adaptation.
The movie is written and directed by Paul W. S. Anderson (Resident Evil films). The movie is produced by Anderson and Jeremy Bolt from Impact Pictures, and by Robert Kulzer and Martin Moszkowicz from Constantin Film. Dennis Berardi, head of VFX for the film, also acts as producer.
The Monster Hunter series consists of hunting action games that pit players against giant monsters in a beautiful natural environment. Since the first title made its debut 14 years ago in 2004, the series has attracted a dedicated fan base, and overall grown into a mega-hit, with cumulative sales of the series exceeding 50 million units.
Monster Hunter: World, the latest title in the series, enthralled game players the world over and shipped 10 million units, making it the best-selling title in Capcom history.
The film will be rated PG-13 for sequences of creature action and violence throughout.
