Power Book II: Ghost Cast and Teaser Revealed by Starz

-

Starz announced today that in addition to previously-announced Power Book II: Ghost cast members Mary J. Blige and Cliff “Method Man” Smith, some familiar faces will remain in the Power universe. The STARZ Original series comes from series creator and showrunner Courtney A. Kemp and Executive Producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.

Reprising their roles will be Michael Rainey Jr. as Tariq St. Patrick, Shane Johnson as Cooper Saxe, and Naturi Naughton as Tasha St. Patrick.

Following the series finale television event of the two-time NAACP Image Award-winning drama Power, Starz also released today a first look tease into the first new series in the Power universe.

Power Book II: Ghost will pick up the narrative just days after the Power finale. The sequel then follows Tariq navigating his new life, in which his desire to shed his father’s legacy comes up against the mounting pressure to save his family.

Additional returning cast from Power include Tariq’s dorm-mate, Brayden, played by Gianni Paolo (Ma, The Fosters), and NYC’s favorite defense attorney Tameika Washington, played by Quincy Tyler Bernstine (Ray Donovan, Modern Love).

New to the Power Book II: Ghost cast is Daniel Bellomy (The Real MVP: The Wanda Durrant Story) as Ezekiel ‘Zeke’ Cross, Paige Hurd (The Oval, Hawaii Five-O) as Lauren, Melanie Liburd (This Is Us, Gypsy) as Caridad ‘Carrie’ Milgram, and Justin McManus (Star) as Jabari Reynolds.

Also joining are Woody McClain (The Bobby Brown Story, The New Edition Story) as Cane Tejada, Lovell Adams-Gray (Coroner, Slasher) as Dru Tejada, and LaToya Tonedeo (The Oath) as Diana Tejada.

Power Book II: Ghost is executive produced by series creator and showrunner Courtney A. Kemp through her company End of Episode, and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson through his G-Unit Film and Television.

Also serving as executive producers on the series are Mark Canton through his Atmosphere Entertainment MM, End of Episode’s Chris Salek and Danielle DeJesus, Shana Stein and Bart Wenrich. Lionsgate TV produces the series for STARZ.

In addition to Power Book II: Ghost, a prequel and two spinoff sequels have also been greenlit.

Power Book III: Raising Kanan is a prequel story that takes viewers back to the ‘90s and the early years of iconic Power character Kanan Stark.

Power Book IV: Influence follows Rashad Tate (played by Larenz Tate) in his ruthless pursuit of political power.

And in Power Book V: Force, fans will ride along with Tommy Egan (played by Joseph Sikora) after he cuts ties and puts New York in his rearview mirror for good.
