Avalanche Clip from The Call of the Wild, Starring Harrison Ford

20th Century Studios has brought online a new Avalanche clip from The Call of the Wild, which opens in theaters on February 21, 2020. The Disney-owned studio (and previously called 20th Century Fox), has also brought online two more TV spots which we’ve included below the Avalanche clip.

Tickets for the film are now on sale and you can get yours at Fandango. You can watch the previously-released videos for the film by clicking here.

Based on Jack London’s legendary adventure, The Call of the Wild is a cinematic experience of a lifetime. Twentieth Century Fox vividly brings to the screen the story of Buck, a big-hearted dog whose blissful domestic life is turned upside down when he is suddenly uprooted from his California home and transported to the exotic wilds of the Canadian Yukon during the Gold Rush of the 1890s.

As the newest rookie on a mail-delivery dogsled team—and later its leader—Buck has embarked on an extraordinary coming-of-age journey that will lead him to ultimately discover his true place in the world and become his own master.

Employing visual effects and animation technology to bring the animals in the film to life, The Call of the Wild is a hybrid of live-action and animated filmmaking. Harrison Ford heads a cast that includes Omar Sy (The Intouchables), Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey), Karen Gillan (The Guardians of the Galaxy), Bradley Whitford (Get Out), Cara Gee (The Expanse), Michael Horse (Twin Peaks), Jean Louisa Kelly (Yes, Dear), Colin Woodell (The Purge), Adam Fergus (Supernatural) and Abraham Benrubi (The Finest Hours).

Chris Sanders (How to Train Your Dragon) directs from a screenplay by Michael Green (Murder on the Orient Express) based on the novel by Jack London. It is produced by Erwin Stoff, p.g.a. (Unbroken), and James Mangold, p.g.a. (Ford v Ferrari) with Diana Pokorny (Downsizing), Ryan Stafford (War for the Planet of the Apes) and Michael Green serving as executive producers.

Additional behind-the-scenes personnel include two-time Academy Award–winning cinematographer Janusz Kaminski (Schindler’s List, Saving Private Ryan); production designer Stefan Dechant (Welcome to Marwen); editors William Hoy, ACE (War for the Planet of the Apes) and David Heinz (American Folk); composer John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon), visual effects supervisor Erik Nash (Iron Man 3) and costume designer Kate Hawley (Suicide Squad).

Chris Sanders, who makes his live-action directorial debut, says, “‘The Call of the Wild’ is all about a character that has unexpected things thrown at him, things that you and I would probably recognize as just the sort of stuff life does. Unexpected challenges can either defeat you or make you stronger, and that’s what happens to Buck.

“Rather than being defeated at these different turns, Buck keeps going and eventually finds a place where he belongs. Buck doesn’t just survive, he prevails, and he does so with his gentle character intact. It so closely relates to what we are going to all go through in life. We’re always going to be traveling in uncertainty, unexpected turns and stuff like that.”

Sanders adds: “Even though it’s a childhood classic, it’s not a fairy tale. It’s a gritty story of survival and perseverance, and whether you’re young or old I think you either have or will experienced these sorts of things. You sense that there’s a truth inside this story that you might be living yourself. And I think that’s why this story endures. It’s a story of a character uncovering strengths that he didn’t know he had.”
