It’s been a while since we’ve seen The Eternals set photos. You have to go back to last September when Angelina Jolie was spotted filming at an English lake. Now the Evening Standard has published new photos featuring Gemma Chan (Crazy Rich Asians, Humans) and Kit Harington (Game of Thrones). You can view the photos via the tweet below, though it’s worth noting that the newspaper does throw in a possible spoiler about what is being filmed.
In The Eternals set photos, we see Chan, who plays Sersi, suspended 40 feet above the ground in north London. They say that on Friday “a small crane was placed at the top of Parliament Hill in Hampstead Heath and Chan was attached to a harness and hoisted 15 feet into the air while wind machines blew leaves around her. She was then raised higher up later on.”
They add that on Thursday fellow star Kit Harington, who plays Dane Whitman, was seen walking with Chan around the Heath. They were later filmed on the top of the hill.
In addition to Chan and Harington, the film stars Angelina Jolie as Thena, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Barry Keoghan as Druig, and Don Lee as Gilgamesh.
Created by Jack Kirby, the Eternals first appeared in The Eternals #1 (July 1976). The Eternals were created by the Celestials, who did experiments on human beings millions of years ago. They also created the Deviants, who, as the name suggests, are the villains of the story. The Eternals and the Deviants have battled each other throughout history. The Eternals can breed with humans and are like them in appearance.
Directed by Chloé Zhao (The Rider, Songs My Brothers Taught Me) and produced by Kevin Feige, The Eternals is scheduled to hit theaters on November 6, 2020. The script was written by Matthew and Ryan Firpo.
