Happy New Year! On the latest episode of the Legion of Leia podcast, hosts Jenna Busch (that’s me) and Anastasia Washington welcome frequent guest Jeffrey Henderson. This time around we’re talking about Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and The Mandalorian.
There will be spoilers, so make sure you’ve seen them both before watching. (Skywalker is up first, so if you’re not caught up with the show, you can listen to the first part. Also, there is some talk about Cats. I’m sorry. There was no way to avoid it. Oh, and KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park.)
We’re going deep into our favorite parts of the film, the controversy over who loved and hated it (and why we don’t hate you if you didn’t like it), Anastasia’s nicknames for the characters, how we’d totally watch a number of spin-off shows (Rose and Jannah please), and more. Also, I do a Babu Frick voice. Jeff does Michael Caine, Elvis as Darth Vader… oh, just listen. There is no way to properly describe the voices he does.
On The Mandalorian side, we talk about why we love it, some episodes that didn’t work for us, and of course, Baby Yoda/The Child. Grab your choccy milk, your juicy boxes, your macky cheese and your chickie nuggies and give us a listen!
If you haven’t listened before, Jeffrey Henderson is an actor/writer/director/voiceover artist, as well as a storyboard and comic book artist. He’s the writer/director and star of the Star Wars short Star Wars: The Sable Corsair, which won the audience choice award in the Lucasfilm contest. You can watch it right here. He’s also the artist responsible for those Spider-Man 4 storyboards you’ve been seeing all over the Internet. You can follow him on Twitter @planethenderson, on Instagram @planethenderson and his website is PlanetHenderson.com. If you want to check out his t-shirt store on Threadless, you can do it here. Darth Presley is available, baby.
