Ryan Reynolds Says Deadpool 3 Is in the Works at Marvel Studios

-

Ryan Reynolds was a guest on Live with Kelly and Ryan on Christmas Eve and was asked whether we’re getting a Deadpool 3. The actor had some great news for fans of the franchise, saying: “Yeah, we’re working on it right now with the whole team. We’re over at Marvel now, which is like the big leagues all of a sudden. It’s kinda crazy. So yeah, we’re working on it.”

Earlier this year, Disney completed its acquisition of 20th Century Fox, the studio that released the first two R-rated Deadpool movies and fans have been wondering whether the company would continue the franchise. It will be interesting to see what Disney’s Marvel Studios and Reynolds will do with the franchise moving forward.

The first Deadpool movie was released in February of 2016 and earned $782.6 million worldwide, with $363 million coming from North America and $419.5 million from overseas. It was followed in May of 2018 by Deadpool 2, which grossed $785 million, with $324.6 million coming from domestic theaters and $460.5 million from international markets.

Directed by David Leitch, Deadpool 2 stars Reynolds, Josh Brolin, Morena Baccarin, Julian Dennison, Zazie Beetz, T.J. Miller, Brianna Hildebrand, and Jack Kesy. The film was written by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick & Reynolds.
