The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It Title Revealed

-

Warner Bros. Pictures today announced that the third Conjuring movie is officially titled The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It. The third installment will be coming to theaters on September 11, 2020. No other movie is scheduled for that date yet.

James Wan’s The Conjuring films have been highly profitable for the studio’s New Line Cinema, with the first film costing just $20 million to make and grossing $319.5 million worldwide in 2013, while the second movie cost $40 million and made another $320.4 million globally in 2016. That’s not even counting other films in The Conjuring Universe, such as the successful Annabelle films, The Nun, and The Curse of La Llorona.

Annabelle Comes Home opened in theaters in June of this year and grossed $228.6 million worldwide. That film was preceded in April by The Curse of La Llorona, which earned $122.1 million globally. La Llorona was directed by Michael Chaves, who will be taking over the director’s chair from Wan on The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It.

Wan will still produce and Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson are returning as Lorraine and Ed Warren, who appeared in smaller roles in Annabelle Comes Home.

A previous report had the story of The Devil Made Me Do It revolving around a man on trial for murder who claims he was possessed by a demon. David Leslie Johnson is writing the script.
