Ryan Reynolds Discovers He’s in a Game in the Free Guy Trailer!

-

Following its debut at Brazil’s Comic Con Experience (CCXP), Disney’s 20th Century Fox has brought online the first Free Guy trailer! You can also check out the new poster in the gallery below. The trailer follows yesterday’s funny tease, in which Ryan Reynolds tried to sell merchandise for the movie.

Directed by Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum films, Real Steel) and opening in theaters on July 3, 2020, Free Guy stars Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool films), Jodie Comer (Killing Eve), Joe Keery (Stranger Things), Lil Rel Howery (Get Out), Utkarsh Ambudkar, and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok).

In Free Guy, a bank teller (Reynolds) who discovers he is actually a background player in an open-world video game, decides to become the hero of his own story… one he rewrites himself. Now in a world where there are no limits, he is determined to be the guy who saves his world his way… before it is too late.

Written by Matt Lieberman and Zak Penn, the film is executive produced by Mary McLaglen, Josh McLaglen, George Dewey, Dan Levine and Michael Riley McGrath. Berlanti Productions’ Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter are producing alongside Reynolds’ Maximum Effort, Levy’s 21 Laps, and Adam Kolbrenner.

Let us know what you think about the Free Guy trailer in the comments below. You can still watch the previously-released video from the New York Comic Con here.
